In the present instance (в настоящем случае, тогда), going back to the liver-pill circular (возвращаясь к проспекту о пилюлях от /болезней/ печени), I had the symptoms, beyond all mistake (у меня были эти симптомы, без всякого сомнения; beyond — за пределами, вне; mistake — ошибка, заблуждение), the chief among them being "a general disinclination to work of any kind (главным среди них был «общее нерасположение к труду всякого рода»; work — работа; труд; занятие, дело)."
