“I went on (я двинулся дальше) to spy out our road (чтобы разведать наш путь). It will soon become dangerous and difficult (скоро он станет опасным и трудным). Also I was anxious (я так же очень беспокоился) about replenishing (о восполнении) our small stock of provisions (нашего небольшого запаса провизии).
