Conditional sentences of Type I
Как и в русском языке, в английском часто употребляются предложения, в которых выражено условие. Чаще всего оно выражается с помощью слова «если» – «if».
Условные предложения могут относится к будущему и настоящему времени (1 тип), к настоящему нереальному (2 тип), к прошедшему (3 тип).
Необходимо запомнить, что в придаточном предложении условия (которое начинается с if) вместо формы будущего времени употребляется форма настоящего времени.
Например,
Если ты расскажешь ему об этом, я к тебе больше никогда не приду.
If you tell him about it, I’ll never come to see you again
Если он не купит обручальные кольца, мне придется сделать это самой.
If he doesn’t buy wedding rings, I’ll have to do it myself.
Форма настоящего времени глагола употребляется вместо формы будущего времени и в том случае, если перед нами придаточное предложение времени, выраженное словами when, as soon as (как только), before, after.

Go towards the house as soon as it starts raining.
Before you climb the stairs to the attic, close the door.
