Мир серебристой чайки

Такие проблемы, которые касаются причин, функций, происхождения и эволюции ухаживания и угрожающего демонстративного поведения, возможно, удалось бы разрешить с помощью изучения родственных видов, так как сравнение — это мощный инструмент при исследовании происхождения и эволюции поведения. Поэтому основной результат наших исследований серебристой чайки заключается не в тех выводах, которые мы сделали, но главным образом в более четком определении проблем, еще требующих разрешепия. И вполне естественно, что мы теперь начали изучение родственных видов. Группа исследователей поведения приступила к изучению обыкновенной чайки, моевки и полярной крачки. Наши коллеги в Голландии п Финляндии занимаются родственными видами. И все наблюдатели поддерживают тесный контакт между собой. Отсюда видно, что проделанная нами работа — это всего лишь начало.
