Работая над этой книгой, я прочла тысячи страниц – рассказов одиноких детей и подростков о том, как плохо, когда ты всем безразличен и некому тебя выслушать. И если бы я заявила, что в их историях описаны только самые тяжелые или крайние проявления одиночества, я бы принизила страдания одиноких. Многие одинокие испытывают эту муку ежедневно. И если бы я приукрашивала, я бы солгала. Право голоса в этой книге принадлежит одиноким, и поэтому их слова, мнения, чувства и опыт занимают в ней столь важное место.
