Dear Professor Wilczek,

I am surprised that my paper is characterized as speculative. The main results are obtained from the explicit mathematical construction of irreducible representations (IRs) of the de Sitter algebra. The results shed new light on fundamental problem of quantum theory. One might wonder why those results have not been known although many physicists are working on de Sitter QFT. I believe the explanation is that, for some reasons, physicists prefer to work with fields rather than with IRs of the dS algebra and probably they did not expect that the IRs could give so important information about fundamental notions of quantum theory. I believe it is rather strange that, although Wigner’s results on IRs of the Poincare algebra are well known, the physical interpretation of IRs of the dS algebra has not been discussed in a wide literature. To the best of my knowledge, this interpretation has been discussed only in a book by Mensky (1976) (printed only in Russian) and my paper in Journal of Physics (2004). I would appreciate if the editorial decision is reconsidered.

Т.е., великий ученый Нобелевский лауреат Wilczek считает ниже своего достоинства как-то обосновывать свое решение как главного редактора. Точнее, обоснование такое: я захотел и после этого нечего обсуждать.

В связи с историями про ‘t Hooft’а и Wilczek’а, меня занимал такой психологический вопрос. Казалось бы, человек, который получил Нобелевскую премию, вошел в историю и обеспечил себе безбедное существование до конца жизни, может позволить себе такую роскошь как следовать правилам научной этики. В частности, следить за тем, чтобы требования, изложенные в editorial policy тех журналов, где они главные редакторы, выполнялись. Например, они могли написать в editorial policy так: я великий ученый и Нобелевский лауреат; поэтому я принимаю только те статьи, которые мне нравятся и не буду объяснять причины по которым я какие-то статьи принимаю, а какие-то отвергаю. По крайней мере, это было бы честно. Но увы, из приведенных примеров видно, они сами нарушают то, что написано в их editorial policy.
