Анализ массовой культуры сквозь призму топографии предполагает разнообразие интерпретаций понятия «культурное пространство». Мы отталкиваемся от трактовки пространства как места взаимодействия адресатов, власти и профессиональных элит, обращая особое внимание на совокупность позиций различных агентов, стремящихся занять места в этом пространстве, на борьбу различных культурных проектов за признание и успех. При подобном ракурсе рассмотрения процессов функционирования и развития искусства концепт «популярности» становится очень важным, так как он является показателем тенденций доминирования/господства, критерием ценностных иерархий во всем пространстве культуры. Массовое искусство – объект огромного количества исследований, но крайне редко его рассматривали сквозь призму тех культурных и особенно политических оппозиций, которые доминируют в конкретный исторический период. В рамках данной статьи наша цель такова: ответить на вопрос, почему и как в период между мировыми войнами во многих странах, и в том числе в СССР, стал популярным «правый» проект искусства и в чем его культурная специфика.
