Тупой панк-рок для интеллектуалов

Как видите, рецензенты в российских СМИ, как правило, делятся на тех, кто думает, что знает что такое «панк-рок», и тех, кто не думает ни о чем. Все приведенные выше рецензии демонстрируют еще один немаловажный аспект: все они ущербны в силу сформированных у авторов музыкальных вкусов и отношения к группе, не важно, положительные рецензии или полное «невмень-ко». Поэтому я посчитал необходимым привести здесь еще одну от человека, обладающего двумя коренными отличиями от наших «писателей»: он живет в Канаде и потому имеет к группе непредвзятое отношение, он является панк-критиком и активистом, хозяином DIY лейбла и мощного интернет-портала. Он, к счастью, ничего не знает о существовании на Земле искусника стихосложения Шевчука и слышал множество разного панка, помимо Sex Pistols:

Finally Russia shows the world its punk! I have been trying for years and years to discover the elusive Russian punk rock Finally I have found it, and I couldn't be more satisfied. I found this CD in Japan, just months after the band was in the country louring with their labelmates, my favoriteJapanese punk band ever: SOBUT. Old Blood Records is the Japanese label that licensed this disc from Russia's FeeLee Records. I highly recommend it to anyone who has the privlege of accessing it.

Unlike a lot of other foreign bands, Tarakany don't sing in English. There is not a single lyric or linear note in English. The language barrier fails to prevent me from enjoying this album. It is mid-paced melodic punk with deep, but melodic vocals The production is so clear it could have been done by Ryan Greene or Mark Trombino. I'd sing along with it if I could, but all I can do is crank it up and enjoy. My senses tell me that the lyrics are intelligent and street-wise, socially aware but not overly political, because the band does not sound particularly angry nor poppy and happy. The beats are fast, and there is lots of variety in rhythm. None of the songs sound the same; they are all loaded with individual flavor, often laced with traces of hardcore guitar riffs and street punk gang vocals. In America, they would definitely be Epitaph or Fat calibre. 1 hope this band will be accessible in the west before long.

Итак, на ваших глазах «deep, but melodic vocals» превращается в «если же говорить о вокале последнего, то на его месте, я бы не позволил себе петь даже среди стада ужравшихся мамонтов», а «все песни похожи друг на друга, как огурцы с одной грядки» оказываются «None of the songs sound the same».
