She had been seized with epilepsy in the early morning (она была охвачена эпилептическим припадком ранним утром), and now, at the closing in of the night, the grave was ready for its tenant (а теперь, при приближении ночи, могила была готова для своей жилицы; closing in – приближение, от to close in – приближаться), and all the preparations for the burial were completed (и все приготовления к погребению были завершены).
