Байрос

Франц фон (Bayros Franz von) (1866—1924) австрийский маркиз, художник-иллюстратор.

Полные биографические данные отсутствуют. Родился в столице Хорватии Загребе в аристократической семье с испанскими корнями. В 1883 сдал вступительный экзамен в Венскую академию художеств. Занимался под руководством известного портретиста Эдуарда фон Эгерта. Принадлежал к кругу венской художественной богемы, дружил с королем вальса Иоганном Штраусом, на падчерице которого Алисе женился в 1896. По своей художественной манере Б. близок к Густаву Климту и Альфонсу Мухе. Для совершенствования мастерства неоднократно посещал Францию и Италию в период с 1904 по 1908. Уже первая проиллюстрированная Б. книга «Manon Lescaut» (1905) показала его оригинальный фирменный стиль, которому он остался верен навсегда.
