Сам же ты, острый свой меч обнаживши и с ним перед ямой Сев, запрещай приближаться безжизненным теням усопших К крови, покуда ответа не даст вопрошенный Тиресий. Скоро и сам он, представ пред тобой, повелитель народов, Скажет тебе, где дорога, и долог ли путь, и успешно ль Рыбообильного моря путем ты домой возвратишься.

Вот такая повесть. Нет повести прекраснее, чем эта, и я не знаю, печальна она или радостна…

В сущности, Цирцея подобна Диогену, бродящему с лампой среди толпы в поисках человека. Ей, наверное, очень, очень одиноко на любимой Земле, после того, как ушли Боги. Да и не мешает она никому думать, искать себя, даже воевать с ней. Зачем?!

Люди сами убьют или затравят тех, кто мешает им спать сытым сном. Кто будит. Или выкинут их из своего устроенного мирка в пространство неведомого, заполняющее межмирье. Люди всегда сами куют свое счастье, и всегда сами за все в ответе. Боги лишь искушают и хранят нас…

Я люблю тебя, Цирцея, и я принимаю все твои подарки, которые ты даришь любому, кто уходит от тебя в плавание. Я отрываюсь от связи со своим стадом, от всего научного сообщества, но я постараюсь не нарушать ни одного из законов научного исследования, применяя все проверенные тобою орудия поиска Истины.

Может быть, ветер еще занесет меня к твоему берегу, и я смогу лицезреть ту, от которой бежал и которой служил всю жизнь… Я иду к тебе, но мой путь лежит через Царство Душ.
