In the beginning was the Word
That broke the absolute silence
And launched the prehistoric world,
And dealt with absolute darkness:

There flashed the very first Light,

Too bright for the darkness to stand.
Ideas began to alight,
Alpha and omega, A and Z.

The Lord could’ve said, «Ni Hao!»

And begun to teach the Tao,
Let the followers win the round
Against those who whisper, «Wow!»

He came to wash off solitude

In the waters of Holy River,
Give revelations in multitude,
Prophesy the defeat of Evil.

All the earthly delights and highness

Were dismissed as being of the earth,
No palm reading appears mindless
If the palm is nailed to the cross.

In spite of the Holy Fire,

In spite of the annual Easter,
So many are getting inspired
By the stubborn atheism.

Little atheistic children

Are allergic to the face of Lord,
While His allergic sneezing
Can bring an end to the world.

When non-believers go down

With a scream, as portrayed by Munch,
Those who tasted the bread and wine
Will hold on to the Holy Book.

Whether churched or laic,

When in desperation,
You’ll find yourself praying
For the last salvation.

And He will soar up dove-like,

He will bring to reason,
And you’ll see a bright light
From your dark mind’s prison.

В бессознательности автоматизма,
В провороте обыденных дней,
Прорастает на сердце схизма,
Задувает в душе суховей.

Прицепив часовую стрелку,

Циферблат не даёт сбежать.
Колесо заточает белку,
А судьбу скрепляет печать.

Раскадровкой мелькают мысли,

Разбирая игру теней.
В субъективе чувственной призмы
Преломляется суть вещей.

Дашь сигналы мимике пальцев,

На фон'o[1] играя ноктюрн:
Сформирует костлявый кальций
Сталактиты парящих скульптур.

Заведясь речевым оборотом,

Прозвучишь на мажорный лад,
Снова веря, что за поворотом
Жизнь подарит нежданный клад.

Будет так или как-то иначе —

Всё одно, но, с другой стороны,
Иногда это символ удачи —
Чей-то сильный удар со спины.

Где-то рядом твой ангел-хранитель

Говорит: «Я с тобой, сынок!»
Путь всегда был в Его обитель
От природы тернист и далёк.

На лице просияет улыбка,

Ты подашь приветственный знак,
И поняв, что всё в мире зыбко,
Это сделаешь просто так.
