After what he had seen and heard (после всего, что он увидел и услышал; to see /saw, seen/; to hear /heard/), the cowboy said (пастух сказал), “I know now why you don’t laugh (теперь я знаю, почему ты не смеешься), and small blame to you (и ты не очень-то виноват /в этом/; small – маленький, небольшой; малый, незначительный; blame – порицание, упрек; вина, ответственность; it is small blame to you – вы не очень виноваты). But does that hare come here still (но прибегает: «приходит» ли сюда по-прежнему тот самый заяц) to spoil your table (чтобы портить = пачкать твой стол)?”

“He does indeed (да, конечно),” said the Gruagach.

 After what he had seen and heard, the cowboy said, “I know now why you don’t laugh, and small blame to you. But does that hare come here still to spoil your table?”

“He does indeed,” said the Gruagach.
