He moved on as he spoke, and the Dormouse followed him (он подвинулся = пересел, пока говорил, и Соня последовала его примеру; to follow — следовать, идти /за кем-либо, чем-либо/; следовать примеру): the March Hare moved into the Dormouse's place (Мартовский Заяц пересел на место Сони), and Alice rather unwillingly took the place of the March Hare (а Алиса, довольно неохотно, заняла место Мартовского Зайца). The Hatter was the only one who got any advantage from the change (Шляпник оказался единственным, кто получил пользу от этой перемены; advantage — преимущество, превосходство; выгода, польза): and Alice was a good deal worse off than before (а Алиса оказалась в гораздо худшем положении, чем прежде; to be worse off — оказаться в более затруднительном положении; worse — хуже), as the March Hare had just upset the milk-jug into his plate (потому что Мартовский Заяц только что опрокинул молочник себе в тарелку; milk — молоко; jug — кувшин).
