Mrs. Harris inspected the card with frank and unabashed interest. The engraved portion read: "Le Marquis Hypolite de Chassagne, Chef des Affaires Etrang`eres, Quai d'Orsay," which meant nothing to her except that her friend was a nob with a title. She turned it over, but the message thereon was scribbled in French and she did not understand that either. "Right-o," she said, "I've got a 'ead like a sieve, but I won't forget."
