`That is because you have done a good action (это потому, что ты сделал доброе дело; good — хороший, приятный, добрый),' said the Prince. `What a remarkable phenomenon (какое замечательное явление/феномен),' said the Professor of Ornithology (сказал Профессор Орнитологии) as he was passing over the bridge (когда он проходил по мосту). `A swallow in winter (ласточка зимой)!'

And he wrote a long letter about it (и он написал об этом длинное письмо; to write (wrote, written)) to the local newspaper (в местную газету). Every one quoted it (все цитировали его), it was full of so many words (оно было полно такого количества слов; many — многие, многочисленные) that they could not understand (которых они не могли понять).

Then the Swallow flew back to the Happy Prince, and told him what he had done.

`It is curious,' he remarked, `but I feel quite warm now, although it is so cold.'
