“Now come with us (а теперь идемте с нами),” said the cowboy to the woman and her sons (сказал пастух женщине и ее сыновьям), “to the wedding of the daughter of the king of Erin (на свадьбу дочери короля Ирландии).”

 He disappeared, was back from London with the three boys all safe and well, and gave them to their mother before the Gruagach could get a taste of smoke out of the pipe.

“Now come with us,” said the cowboy to the woman and her sons, “to the wedding of the daughter of the king of Erin.”

They hurried on (они поспешили дальше); and when within three miles of the king’s castle (а когда /они были/ в трех милях /ходьбы/ от королевского замка) there was such a throng of people (там оказалась такая толпа людей; throng – толчея; толпа, скопление людей) that no one could go a step ahead (что никто не мог продвинуться вперед ни на шаг). “We must clear a road through this (мы должны пробиться сквозь эту /толпу/: «расчистить дорогу через это»; to clear – очищать; очищать, освобождать, устранять препятствия),” said the cowboy.

“We must indeed (конечно, мы должны /сделать это/),” said the Gruagach; and at it they went (и они пошли на /эту толпу/), threw the people some on one side and some on the other (разбрасывая людей кого на одну сторону, кого на другую; to throw /threw, thrown/), and soon they had an opening for themselves to the king’s castle (и вскоре у них был проход: «они имели отверстие для себя самих» к замку короля).

As they went in (когда они вошли), the daughter of the king of Erin and the son of the king of Tisean were on their knees (дочь короля Ирландии и сын короля Tisean [Зависти] стояли: «были» на коленях) just going to be married (их как раз собирались поженить: «как раз собирающиеся стать мужем и женой»). The cowboy drew his hand on the bridegroom (пастух поднял руку на жениха; to draw – тащить, волочить; to draw on smb. – угрожать кому-л.), and gave a blow (и нанес /ему/ удар; to give /gave, given/ – дать; to give a blow – ударить) that sent him spinning (от которого он отлетел и крутился; to spin – прясть, сучить; крутиться, вертеться, описывать круги; to send one spinning – отбросить кого-л. ударом) till he stopped under a table at the other side of the room (пока он /не/ остановился под столом у другой стороны = в другом конце комнаты).

 As they went in, the daughter of the king of Erin and the son of the king of Tisean were on their knees just going to be married. The cowboy drew his hand on the bridegroom, and gave a blow that sent him spinning till he stopped under a table at the other side of the room.
