Anyway, all nineteen of us settled like locusts over the furniture and clamoured for honey. I've been hearing about Shakespeare all my life (я слышала о Шекспире всю свою жизнь), but I had no idea he really wrote so well (но я и понятия не имела, что он действительно так хорошо писал; idea — идея, мысль; представление, понятие); I always suspected him of going largely on his reputation (я всегда подозревала, что о нем судят в значительной степени по его репутации; to go on smth. — судить по чему-либо; reputation — репутация, слава).
