I would sooner have died than have this happen. I had no wish to bring up children to be kept in cages like pet birds. I was the favourite of a great King and Queen and my own life at Court was pleasant enough. But it was not a life that I would wish children to have.

I often thought of my family in England. I hoped very much to see them again. I also wanted to talk to people again who were my equals. Imagine being able to walk in the streets or fields again without fear of being stepped on like a small frog or a puppy.

Glumdalclitch and I accompanied the King and Queen (сопровождали короля и королеву) on a journey to the south coast of the kingdom (в /их/ путешествии к южному побережью королевства).
