And he answered (и он ответил), 'My mother is a beggar (моя мать — нищенка) even as I am (точно также, как и я), and I have treated her evilly (и я очень плохо обошелся с ней; to treat — обращаться, обходиться), and I pray ye (и умоляю вас) to suffer me to pass (позволить мне пройти) that she may give me her forgiveness (так, что она, может быть, даст мне свое прощение = простит меня), if it be that she tarrieth in this city (если случилось так, что она живет в этом городе; to tarry — пребывать, останавливаться, жить).'
