He'd done that using the Cloak of Invisibility, the one that had been given him in a Christmas box along with a note, and that note had said: If Dumbledore saw a chance to possess one of the Deathly Hallows he would never let it escape his grasp.... "A natural thought," Dumbledore went on, "is that since none of the first-years present were able to cast such a spell, someone else was present, and yet unseen.	- Сразу понятно, - продолжал Дамблдор, - что, так как ни один первокурсник не способен наколдовать такое самостоятельно, в том коридоре присутствовал кто-то ещё, невидимый.
And if no one could see them, why, it would be easy enough for them to throw the pies.	А вот невидимка как раз и мог бросать пироги, оставаясь незамеченным.
One might further suspect that since you had a Time-Turner, you were the invisible one; and that since the spell of Disillusionment is far beyond your current abilities, you had an invisibility cloak."	Можно также предположить, что, раз у тебя есть Маховик времени, этим невидимкой был ты сам. А поскольку заклинание Разнаваждения далеко за гранью твоих текущих способностей, значит у тебя есть мантия-невидимка.
Dumbledore smiled conspiratorially.	- Дамблдор заговорщицки улыбнулся.
"Am I on the right track so far, Harry?"	- Я пока на верном пути, Гарри?
Harry was frozen.	Мальчик замер.
He had the feeling that an outright lie would not at all be wise, and possibly not the least bit helpful, and he couldn't think of anything else to say.	Было ощущение, что соврать - не самое мудрое решение. Но ему никак не приходил в голову подходящий ответ.
Dumbledore waved a friendly hand.	Дамблдор дружелюбно махнул рукой:
"Don't worry, Harry, you haven't done anything wrong.	- Не переживай, Гарри, ты не нарушил школьные правила.
Invisibility cloaks aren't against the rules - I suppose they're rare enough that no one ever got around to putting them on the list.	Полагаю, мантии-невидимки слишком редки, чтобы кто-то додумался их официально запретить.
But really I was wondering something else entirely."	Но меня интересует совсем другое.
"Oh?"	- А?
Harry said in the most normal voice he could manage.	- Г арри старался, чтобы голос не выдал обуревавших его чувств.
Dumbledore's eyes shone with enthusiasm.	Глаза Дамблдора загорелись:
"You see, Harry, after you've been through a few adventures you tend to catch the hang of these things.	- Видишь ли, Гарри, пережив несколько приключений, начинаешь кое-что понимать.
You start to see the pattern, hear the rhythm of the world.	Начинаешь видеть истинное устройство мира, чувствовать его ритм.
