The Templar and De Bracy found each other in the tower corridor, and Front-de-Boeuf came running up from the dungeon below.

"Let us find out what this noise is all about," Front-de-Boeuf said.

"Here, I've been given this letter (вот, мне дали это письмо), but I can't read it (но я не могу прочитать его), because it is in Saxon (потому что оно на саксонском)." "Give it to me," said the Templar.

"What does it say?" asked De Bracy.
