The little prince went away, to look again at the roses.	Маленький принц пошел взглянуть на розы.
"You are not at all like my rose," he said.	- Вы ничуть не похожи на мою розу, - сказал он им.
"As yet you are nothing.	- Вы ещё ничто.
No one has tamed you, and you have tamed no one.	Никто вас не приручил, и вы никого не приручили.
You are like my fox when I first knew him.	Таким был прежде мой Лис.
He was only a fox like a hundred thousand other foxes.	Он ничем не отличался от ста тысяч других лисиц.
But I have made him my friend, and now he is unique in all the world."	Но я с ним подружился, и теперь он -единственный в целом свете.
And the roses were very much embarrassed.	Розы очень смутились.
"You are beautiful, but you are empty," he went on.	- Вы красивые, но пустые, - продолжал Маленький принц.
"One could not die for you.	- Ради вас не захочется умереть.
To be sure, an ordinary passerby would think that my rose looked just like you - the rose that belongs to me.	Конечно, случайный прохожий, поглядев на мою розу, скажет, что она точно такая же, как вы.
But in herself alone she is more important than all the hundreds of you other roses: because it is she that I have watered; because it is she that I have put under the glass globe; because it is she that I have sheltered behind the screen; because it is for her that I have killed the caterpillars (except the two or three that we saved to become butterflies); because it is she that I have listened to, when she grumbled, or boasted, or ever sometimes when she said nothing. And he went back to meet the fox.	И Маленький принц возвратился к Лису.
"Goodbye," he said.	- Прощай... - сказал он.
"Goodbye," said the fox.	- Прощай, - сказал Лис.
"And now here is my secret, a very simple secret: It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye."	- Вот мой секрет, он очень прост: зорко одно лишь сердце. Самого главного глазами не увидишь.
"What is essential is invisible to the eye," the little prince repeated, so that he would be sure to remember.	- Самого главного глазами не увидишь, - повторил Маленький принц, чтобы лучше запомнить.
"It is the time you have wasted for your rose that makes your rose so important."	- Твоя роза так дорога тебе потому, что ты отдавал ей все свои дни.
