The Infanta! He loathed it (тот был ему противен; to loathe — испытывать отвращение), and it made hideous faces at him (а /уродец/ строил ему отвратительные/страшные рожи; face — лицо; гримаса). He drew back (он отступил/отшатнулся назад; to draw (drew, drawn)), and it retreated (и тот отступил).
