Но главное, благодарность – это знак внимания, который подтверждает ваши социальные навыки. А умение вести себя вежливо, корректно и с достоинством равноценно уверенности в себе.

Please allow me to take this opportunity to hereby convey and express my heartfelt gratitude for the insightful observations that you generously offered on the occasion of the Human Resources meeting at Vector, Inc., headquarters on August 12, 2007.

In point of fact, yesterday’s meeting, as you obviously know, had taken an unfortunate turn during the sustained discussions of the proposed viability and necessity of the Byron hires. Understandably, I was neither pleased, nor happy, nor hopeful, at the prospect of convincing the Compensation Analysts with the strength, logic, and rationale of my data, despite all the extensive and thorough preparation that I personally undertook prior to the meeting to make my case as clear and comprehensible as possible and despite the overwhelming amount of evidence at my disposal.

The well-chosen timing of your cogent remarks and the evident force with which you delivered them not only secured the Analysts’ considerable attention, it also allowed them to reassess, reconsider, and reevaluate their position in light of the fact of your sharp observations. It was at that very moment that the tables turned, so to speak, and my case was given its due, thanks to you.

Please let me say here once more how valuable your support was to the likelihood and achievability of the hires. And the success to which you contributed is not to be forgotten.

Слово «hereby» сегодня годится разве что для судебной повестки. Мудреные сложные обороты до сих пор используются в юридических документах, однако в ином контексте они звучат комично. Функция e-mail – обеспечить обмен информацией, а не щегольнуть экстравагантным стилем. Здесь нет места витиеватому слогу. Вычурный напыщенный язык отталкивает людей. Такая манера изъясняться показывает, что автор оторван от жизни. «Insightful» и «cogent» уместны в литературном тексте или деловой документации, но никак не в кратком рядовом письме.
