"Goodbye," he said again.	- Прощайте, - повторил Маленький принц.
The flower coughed.	Она кашлянула.

"I have been silly," she said to him, at last.	- Я была глупая, - сказала она наконец.
"I ask your forgiveness.	- Прости меня.
Try to be happy..."	И постарайся быть счастливым.
He was surprised by this absence of reproaches.	И ни слова упрека.
He stood there all bewildered, the glass globe held arrested in mid-air.	Маленький принц очень удивился. Он застыл, растерянный, со стеклянным колпаком в руках.
He did not understand this quiet sweetness.	Откуда эта тихая нежность?
"Of course I love you," the flower said to him.	- Да, да, я люблю тебя, - услышал он.
"It is my fault that you have not known it all the while.	- Моя вина, что ты этого не знал.
That is of no importance.	Да это и не важно.
But you - you have been just as foolish as I.	Но ты был такой же глупый, как я.
Try to be happy...	Постарайся быть счастливым...
Let the glass globe be. I don't want it any more."	Оставь колпак, он мне больше не нужен.
"But the wind - "	- Но ветер...
"My cold is not so bad as all that...	- Не так уж я простужена...
The cool night air will do me good.	Ночная свежесть пойдет мне на пользу.
I am a flower."	Ведь я - цветок.
"But the animals - "	- Но звери, насекомые...
"Well, I must endure the presence of two or three caterpillars if I wish to become acquainted with the butterflies.	- Должна же я стерпеть двух-трех гусениц, если хочу познакомиться с бабочками.
It seems that they are very beautiful.	Они, наверно, прелестны.
And if not the butterflies - and the caterpillars - who will call upon me?	А то кто же станет меня навещать?
You will be far away...	Ты ведь будешь далеко.
As for the large animals - I am not at all afraid of any of them.	А больших зверей я не боюсь.
I have my claws."	У меня тоже есть когти.
And, na?vely, she showed her four thorns.	И она в простоте душевной показала свои четыре шипа.
Then she added:	Потом прибавила:
"Don't linger like this.	- Да не тяни же, это невыносимо!
You have decided to go away. Now go!"	Решил уйти - так уходи.
