It was at work upon the feathering of his shafts that the first of the reporters found him.	За опереньем стрел и застал Дикаря репортер, прилетевший первым.
Noiseless on his pneumatic shoes, the man came up behind him.	Он подошел сзади бесшумно на своих пневматических подошвах.
"Good-morning, Mr. Savage," he said.	- Здравствуйте, мистер Дикарь, - произнес он.
"I am the representative of The Hourly Radio."	- Я из "Ежечасных радиовестей".
Startled as though by the bite of a snake, the Savage sprang to his feet, scattering arrows, feathers, glue-pot and brush in all directions.	Дикарь вскинулся, как от змеиного укуса, вскочил, рассыпая стрелы, перья, опрокинув клей, уронив кисть для клея.
"I beg your pardon," said the reporter, with genuine compunction.	- Прошу извинить, - искренне и сокрушенно сказал репортер.
"I had no intention ..." He touched his hat-the aluminum stove-pipe hat in which he carried his wireless receiver and transmitter.	- Я вовсе не хотел... - Он коснулся своей шляпы -алюминиевого цилиндра, в котором был смонтирован приемопередатчик.
"Excuse my not taking it off," he said.	- Простите, что не снимаю шляпы.
"It's a bit heavy.	Слегка тяжеловата.
