And so it came (и так получилось; to come — зд. наступать, случаться, происходить) that the Toad and the Porcupine both lost their noses (что Дикобраз и Жаба потеряли свои носы) and have none to this day (и не имеют /их/ до сего дня; none — никто, ничто; ничего и т. п.)
