Je suis tres heureuse about the farm (я очень счастлива насчет фермы), parsque je n'ai jamais been on a farm dans ma vie (потому что я никогда не была на ферме за всю свою жизнь) and I'd hate to retourner chez John Grier (и очень не хотела бы возвратиться в /Приют/ Джона Грира), et wash dishes tout l''et'e (и мыть посуду все лето). There would be danger of quelque chose affreuse happening (была бы опасность, что что-нибудь ужасное случится), parsque j'ai perdue ma humilit'e d'autre fois (потому что я лишилась моего прежнего смирения) et j'ai peur that I would just break out quelque jour (и я боюсь, что я просто взорвалась бы когда-нибудь; to break — ломать; разразиться) et smash every cup and saucer dans la maison (и перебила все чашки и блюдца в доме; to smash — разбивать в дребезги).

Je ne peux pas send des mes nouvelles (я не могу послать мои новости) parseque je suis dans French class (так как я нахожусь на уроке французского) et j'ai peur que Monsieur le Professeur is going to call on me tout de suite (и боюсь, что господин учитель собирается вызвать меня прямо сейчас; to call /on/ — кричать; вызывать учащегося ответить на вопрос преподавателя).

It is a heavenly spot in May (это восхитительно прекрасное место в мае; heavenly — божественный; эмоц.-усил. великолепный, изумительный; spot — пятно, пятнышко; место, местность, район). All the shrubs are in blossom (все кусты в цвету) and the trees are the loveliest young green (и деревья /покрылись/ прекраснейшей молодой листвой; green — зеленый цвет; растительность, листва) — even the old pines look fresh and new (даже старые сосны выглядят свежими и новыми). The grass is dotted with yellow dandelions (лужайки усеяны желтыми одуванчиками; grass — трава; лужайка, газон; to dot — ставить точки; усеивать, испещрять) and hundreds of girls in blue and white and pink dresses (и сотнями девушек в синих, белых и розовых платьях).
