Сказка о царе Салтане

Said the merchants:	Корабельщики в ответ:
"If you please, We have sailed the seven seas;	"Мы объехали весь свет;
Swords of Damask steel we've sold,	Торговали мы булатом,
Virgin silver, too, and gold.	Чистым серебром и златом,
Now we're overdue, you know,	И теперь нам вышел срок;
And we still have far to go-	А лежит нам путь далек,
Past the Island of Buyan,	Мимо острова Буяна,
Back to gracious Tsar Saltan,"	В царство славного Салтана".
"Gentles," murmured Prince Guidon-	Говорит им князь тогда:
"May fair breezes speed you on,	"Добрый путь вам, господа,
O'er the ocean, o'er the main,	По морю по Окияну
Back to Tsar Saltan again.	К славному царю Салтану.
Yes, and when your tsar you see,	Да скажите ж: князь Гвидон
Give him compliments from me."	Шлет-де свой царю поклон".
Bowing low before him, they	Гости князю поклонились,
Left the prince and sailed away.	Вышли вон и в путь пустились.
He, though, hastened to the shore	К морю князь, а лебедь там
Where he met the swan once more;	Уж гуляет по волнам.
Told her that his heart was burning,	Князь опять: душа-де просит...
For his sire, his soul was yearning...	Так и тянет и уносит...
So she drenched him, head to toe.	И опять она его
In a trice, he shrank, and lo!	Вмиг обрызгала всего.
Ere or he could even gasp,	Тут он очень уменьшился,
He had turned into a wasp.	Шмелем князь оборотился,
Then he buzzed, and rapidly	Полетел и зажужжал;
Overtook the ship at sea;	Судно на море догнал,
Gently settled aft, and stole	Потихоньку опустился
Out of sight into a hole.	На корму - и в щель забился.
Merrily the breeze is singing,	Ветер весело шумит,
O'erthe waves a ship is winging	Судно весело бежит
Past the Island of Buyan	Мимо острова Буяна,
To the realm of Tsar Saltan.	В царство славного Салтана,
Now his longed-for land so dear	И желанная страна
Stands out in the distance, clear.	Вот уж издали видна.
Now the ship at anchor rests,	Вот на берег вышли гости.
