SHE went out on to the verandah and watched him leave the house.	Она вышла на веранду и видела, как он уходил.
He waved his hand to her.	Он помахал ей.
It gave her a little thrill as she looked at him; he was forty-one, but he had the lithe figure and the springing step of a boy.	Она смотрела ему вслед, и сердце ее трепетало. Сорок один год, а фигура легкая и походка пружинистая, как у юноши.
The verandah was in shadow; and lazily, her heart at ease with satisfied love, she lingered.	Веранда была в тени, и она еще помедлила там, разнеженная, утомленная любовью.

It was a curio* dealer's; and the Chinese who were sitting about stared at her unpleasantly; she hated the ingratiating smile of the old man who took her to the back of the shop and then up a dark flight of stairs. "It was till you came in," he answered.	- Было неприглядно, пока ты не вошла, - ответил он.
Of course the moment he took her in his arms she forgot everything.	И конечно же, стоило ему обнять ее, как она обо всем забыла.
Oh, how hateful it was that she wasn't free, that they both weren't free!	О, как ужасно, что она не свободна, что они не свободны!
She didn't like his wife.	Его жена ей не нравилась.
