Afterwards the Queen wished to know (после королева пожелала узнать) why I had behaved so coldly to the farmer (почему я повел себя с фермером так холодно; to behave — вести себя, поступать, держаться). I added that I felt sure I would soon recover my health as a servant of a great and good Queen, who was the Darling of the World and the Delight of her Subjects. (Glumdalclitch, on our way to the Court, had taught me some of the things she had heard the Queen's ladies say.)
