The kin from distant places rare Have tender welcome everywhere,	Родне, прибывшей издалеча, Повсюду ласковая встреча,
And exclamations at the board:	И восклицанья, и хлеб-соль.
'What big is Tanya!	"Как Таня выросла!
Is it not	Давно ль
That recently I was you christening?'	Я, кажется, тебя крестила?
I was taking you in hands!	А я так на руки брала!
' And I your ears pulled by hands!'	А я так за уши драла!
' And I was gingebread you giving!'	А я так пряником кормила!"
And all grandparents exclaim: 'But how years fly away!'	И хором бабушки твердят: "Как наши годы-то летят!"
